Things to Do in Panama City Beach When it Rains

It seems there is always at least one rainy day when on a beach vacation. Instead of sitting inside your vacation rental all day and waiting for the weather to change, we recommend putting together a list of rainy day activities. These are some of our favorite things to do in Panama City Beach when it rains.

Play Indoor Mini Golf

Mini golf is a highlight of every beach vacation! Usually played at one of the many outdoor courses, there is one indoor course in Panama City Beach, located at Race City,  that makes for a perfect escape on a rainy day. This course is played under blacklights which give the courses bright neon colors a spectacular glow as you play the course! Race City also offers many other indoor activities to enjoy once you’re done playing. 

Visit an Arcade

 There are many arcades in Panama City Beach, including one at Race City if you decide to play mini-golf there. You could spend an entire day playing classic games like skeeball and newer video games like race car driving. Many of the arcades also offer tickets based on how you perform, which you can trade in for all sorts of prizes. Some of our favorite arcades in the area include Race City, Fun-Land, Cobra Adventure Park, and Rock’it Lanes.

Go Bowling

 Speaking of Rock’it Lanes, bowling is another must-do activity while it’s raining. Nothing beats a  couple of laughter-filled games of bowling with the family. There are 24 lanes and you can choose to play with bumpers if you’re tired of gutterballs. Looking for more blacklight fun? Visit at night for cosmic bowling, which features black lights and lasers! Rock’it is conveniently located in the Shoppes at Edgewater, next to many different restaurants and shops. This location also offers other a variety of other indoor activities including an arcade and rollerskating rink.

Stop By a Museum

 There is no shortage of museums and fun attractions in Panama City Beach! Two of our local favorites include Wonderworks and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. These attractions are located right across from each other on Front Beach Beach road in the heart of Panama City Beach. WonderWorks features over 100 interactive exhibits focused on science as well as laser tag, and a 6D motion ride. Ripley’s Believe it or Not has a huge collection of odd and unusual artifacts in the Odditorium, as well as a mirror maze and motion theater. Whichever location you decide to visit, plan on spending at least half a day exploring!

Relax at Your Vacation Rental
