PCB 4th of July Celebration
In Panama City Beach, we don't just celebrate the 4th of July on one day. There are events all throughout the long holiday weekend in 2021, with fabulous fireworks displays and family-friendly activities.
The festivities begin on July 2 with the Light Up The Bay Fireworks show at Papa Joe's Bayside where you'll find food trucks, music, and fun. On July 3, Light Up the Gulf brings the show to the shores of the Gulf of Mexico, and the Freedom Rocks event takes place at 8:45 pm along the Grand Lagoon Bridge near Treasure Island Marina. The weekend concludes with the largest fireworks display on the Gulf Coast on July 4th at the M.B. Miller County Pier. The display starts at 9 pm.
Paddleboard the Waters of PCB
Have you tried paddleboarding yet? It's an easy and peaceful activity out on the calm and warm waters of PCB. While there is a bit of learning to do to feel comfortable on a paddleboard, virtually anyone can do it. Lake Powell, Cypress Springs, Econfina, and Holmes Creek are all popular paddleboarding spots. There are local companies where you can rent all the gear you need, or book a tour to get expert advice and find the best-hidden spots.

Hang Out by the Aqua Resort Pool
The beaches of Panama City are just steps from the resort, but you don't even have to get in the sand to bask in the Florida sun. Lounge along the beachfront pool's luxurious deck with a good book, or even get some work done if you need to by accessing the free WiFi. When you're hungry, grab a bite to eat at the poolside cafe or sip on a delicious daiquiri (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic are available). The Aqua Cafe is open daily from 11 am - 6 pm.
A Few Tips For Your July Vacation to Panama City Beach, FL
Always Stay Hydrated: This time of the year, temperatures can reach well into the 90s and with the humidity, it can feel even hotter. Be sure to stay hydrated and carry a refillable water bottle with you to be sure you're drinking enough water.
Afternoon Showers Don't Last: You might see a chance of rain most days during the summer, but that doesn't mean it's going to rain all day. During the summer it's common for an afternoon shower to hit, but it typically doesn't last long at all. It's sometimes just long enough to grab a bite to eat and cool off in the AC.
Protect Your Skin With SPF: No matter what time of the year you're visiting PCB, sunscreen is key. There are plenty of local stores that sell SPF so you can get a bottle if you run out, but bring some with you as well. It's a great idea to add a coat of sunscreen before heading out the door, and lather up a few times throughout the day if you're lounging by the pool or at the beach.
Avoid Exercising During Peak Afternoon Hours: If you're exercising outside, be sure to avoid the hottest hours of the day between 10 am and 3 pm. Get out as early as you can in the morning for the coolest temperature, or wait until the sun is almost setting to avoid the harsh sun and high heat.
